Uniqlo’s graphic T-shirt line UT has announced its first-ever collaboration with POP MART, the Chinese art toy powerhouse. Titled WE ARE THE MONSTERS, the collection shines a spotlight on Labubu, one of the most beloved characters from “THE MONSTERS,” a hit series created by artist Kasing Lung.
The capsule lineup features T-shirts in four colorways: black, white, gray, and pink. Designs range from minimalist styles with a “THE MONSTERLAND” logo across the chest to bold graphics on the back, and vibrant versions combining colorful art with the phrase “WE ARE THE MONSTERS.” The collection captures the whimsy and eccentricity that have defined POP MART’s universe and brings it to everyday wear.
The items will begin rolling out mid-August via Uniqlo’s official online store and select retail outlets. The collection is available in both adult and kids’ sizes, and will be distributed across major global markets including the U.S., Canada, Japan, Vietnam, Australia, and China.
Jianpeng Yang, Licensing Director at POP MART, commented on the brand’s expanding IP strategy: “POP MART’s licensing business continues to upgrade, making breakthroughs from FMCG, food, beauty and other industries to fields like 3C, clothing, hotels, virtual products, and so on. Through in-depth customized cooperation with top brands, we will continue to promote IP innovation, enhance the commercial value of IP, integrate art toy culture IP into more scenes, and create a more mature and refined business framework.”
In recent years, POP MART has built a robust portfolio of original IPs, including MOLLY, PUCKY, DIMOO, SKULLPANDA, SWEET BEAN, and BUNNY—characters that have appeared in collaborations with global giants like Lays, Häagen-Dazs, L’Oréal Paris, and Kiehl’s. These tie-ups highlight POP MART’s growing influence beyond the art toy scene.
More than a character collaboration, this collection offers a new kind of consumer experience—wearable art toys. In partnership with a global brand like UT, Labubu makes the leap from collectible figure to fashion icon, signaling the evolution of art toys from shelf to street.
