JAKARTA – The unique collaboration between French luxury fashion house Moynat and popular character Labubu has finally been officially announced. This limited edition bag collection will launch on October 11, 2025 in Shanghai, before being brought to Paris, Taipei, Hong Kong, and the United States.
This collection is special because for the first time the characters by Hong Kong artists, Kasing Lung, namely Labubu, Zimomo, and King Mon, are present in the design of the European luxury brand.
These characters decorate tote canvas monograms, leather bags, minitrunks, to passport holders, complete with limited edition Labubu key hangers.
What makes this collaboration even more lively is the involvement of BLACKPINK’s Lisa. The Thai singer uploaded a photo of himself holding one of the bags from the Moynat x Labubu collection to his personal Instagram account.
The upload immediately became the spotlight of fans. Lisa’s presence gave extraordinary appeal, especially because she was known as the first person to popularize Labubu.
Reporting from the Jing Daily page, the Moynatat x Labubu campaign was photographed by Xiangyu Liu and featured a series of big names, such as Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh, legendary actor Tony Leung, fashion editor of Carine Roitfield, to ballet star Paris Opera Guillaume Diop.
According to fashion observers, this step marks the important transformation of Labubu from just a collection toy to a global fashion icon.
“Labubu’s entry into Moynata’s collection shows this character has now become a true IP mode,” said fashion analyst in Jing Daily’s report.
As part of the LVMH group, Moynat sees this collaboration as a strategy to reach the younger generation, especially in Asia. Moreover, China is now a big market with a very strong fan culture trend.
On the Xiaohongshu platform, the hashtag #Labubu has amassed more than 4 billion impressions, while Moynat has 9.1 million impressions, figures that are expected to continue to increase thanks to BLACKPINK’s Lisa.
The Moynatat x Labubu collaboration also confirms the position of Labubu as a symbol of a new pop culture in the fashion world. From Hermes bag hangers to now entering Europe’s luxury line, Labubu officially rose to class to become a hunted collection item.
