“KPop Demon Hunters,” Labubu and “Wicked” costumes are all the rage for Halloween this year and while piecing together an elaborate store-bought costume may be nearly impossible now, there are plenty of ways to dress up with items found at home.
For last-minute shoppers, Spirit Halloween is offering “extended hours” for Halloweekend, staying open until 10 p.m. or later through Halloween night. Hours vary by region, so check how late a local store will be open by using the Spirit Halloween store locator.
To help celebrate Halloweekend, Spirit Halloween is also offering $20 overnight shipping on orders over $50 with the code “TREAT25.”
For those looking to drum up a last last-minute Halloween costume, here are some easy, trendy do-it-yourself ideas.
More Halloween: ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’ Labubu among Google’s top-searched-for Halloween costumes
Can’t order a ‘KPop Demon Hunter’ costume in time? Try these ideas.
With Halloween only a day away, it may be hard to find an official “KPop Demon Hunters” costume on the rack or available for overnight shipping. But luckily, the main character costumes can be made with basic clothes at home, some craft supplies and, for a final touch – temporary hair color.
Rumi’s signature white and gold on-stage outfit may be the simplest to make at home. For those not interested in crafting, a plain white tank top and white shorts with gold jewelry can do the trick. If time and resources allow, adorn the tank top with gold-colored trim from a craft store – use some hot, super or craft glue to attach it.
TikTok user Carina Pezzatta created her daughter’s Rumi costume at home using a white tank top and gold-colored trim that she hot glued to the shirt. For the shorts, Pezzatta glued sparkly black trim to the sides.
To finish off a Rumi look, use temporary purple hair color on a single braid. Temporary hair color can be found on Amazon and in-person at retailers including Walmart, Walgreens, Sally Beauty and Ulta Beauty.
Interested in dressing up as one of the Saja Boys instead? These costumes are pretty simple, too.
During their performances, the Saja Boys wear all-black outfits. To execute at home, wear a long black dress or black pants and a long sleeve black shirt. For extra touches, wear a black hat (a wide-brimmed hat or witch hat would work best) and tie a red string around the waist.
For her son’s Saja Boy costume, TikTok user Wendy Mendez used a black witch hat and pushed the tip inward so the hat appeared to have a flat top.
6-7 can equate to Halloween costumes for 1 or 2
One of the biggest trends this year translates to one of the easiest Halloween costumes: 6-7. The Gen Alpha slang has been rolling through schools and social media this fall. It can mean “so-so” or be used as an exclamation, paired with moving the hands up and down, palms up, like weighing two objects.
To execute a solo costume, cut out a big “6” and “7” from cardboard or construction paper. Adhere the numbers to the chest and back with tape or glue. Going with a partner? One can be “6” and the other “7.”

Labubu costume
Labubus are one of this year’s most sought out Halloween costumes and while Pop Mart, the keychain ornament’s creator, hasn’t released an official costume, plenty of fans have made their own. And luckily, a full-blown Labubu costume doesn’t take much work.
For those working with what they have at home, start with a fluffy onesie, PJ set or fuzzy hoodie. This will serve as the fur-like base for the Labubu.
To make bunny ears at home (for those who don’t have a pair laying around), TikTok user Alexa Navarrete used pipe cleaners. The bendable craft item can be shaped into bunny ears and attached to the top of a hood with hot glue or safety pins. Pipe cleaners can also be secured to a headband if a hood isn’t feasible.
To really nail the Labubu look, wear a pair of fake vampire teeth or draw a wide and sharp, toothy smile on with makeup.
How to DIY: You can dress like a cute (or creepy) Labubu for Halloween.
Costumes to get the ‘Wicked’ look
Buying (or making) an entire dress based on a beloved “Wicked” character may be too much to tackle, but there are simpler ways to channel Glinda and Elphaba in time.
The easiest way is dressing head to toe in pink for Glinda and green and black for Elphaba. The message will get across even better when paired with a friend.
TikTok user Adison Justis demonstrated a way to pull off a “Wicked” look with makeup, using pink shades of makeup on one side of her face and green on the other. She topped the makeup look off with pink and green sequins.
Grab a box for an easy ‘Minecraft’ costume
Have a box laying around? That’s already more than half of a “Minecraft” costume.
Using a square box that fits over the head, paint the box a base color, like green for a Creeper or tan for Steve to get started. Then paint the rest of the details, using a ruler to get straight and even squares for a true “Minecraft” look. Don’t have paint? Cut and glue colored construction paper squares to the box.
Make sure to cut eye holes in the box before wearing it out on the town.
