WHAT IS LABUBU?
For those unfamiliar, you might be asking, “What is Labubu?”
Labubu is a captivating character created by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung in 2015 as part of a whimsical ensemble known as The Monsters.
This imaginative line-up, which includes Labubu’s companions Zimomo and Tycoco, draws inspiration from Nordic fairy tales and first came to life in children’s books, reflecting influences from elves, fairies, and mythical creatures.
Earlier this year, Labubu and Zimomo figures took the spotlight at Milan Fashion Week, featured in a show by the Chinese designer brand Pronounce.
Labubuโs popularity skyrocketed in April when Thai singer and BLACKPINK member Lisa shared an Instagram story with a giant Labubu plush toy and a charming accessory.
Following this, more celebrities, such as BLACKPINK’s Rosรฉ, Singaporean luxury influencer Jamie Chua, and Thai heartthrob Mario Maurer, were seen with Labubu.
In the Philippines, Marian Rivera recently showed on social media her impressive Labubu collection.

The bag charms are priced between PHP 900 and PHP1,400, while plushie dolls are available at PHP 4,400.
The mega 1000% versions may cost up to PHP 51,000.
Currently, most of these items are sold out on the website and are now being offered by resellers at marked-up prices.
