PARIS, Sept 9 — If you thought the Labubu trend was on its death legs, you might be wrong judging from the latest Labubu collaboration that has some heavy hitter ambassadors.
Kasing Lung, the creator of The Monsters line of cute furry characters we all know as Labubu, has partnered with French luxury bag company Moynat for a series of Labubu-themed bags.
In social media posts, Moynat described the collection thusly: “The limited-edition collection celebrates Kasing Lung work featuring Labubu, Zimomo and King Mon with Moynat’s signature M canvas.”
Our very own Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh as well as Hong Kong icon Tony Leung are both ambassadors for the collection, posing with the new line that features Labubu emblazoned on the Moynat bags.
No pricing or availability details have been announced besides the line going on sale October 11.
With Pop Mart’s Labubu continuing to rack up record sales for the brand, we’ll have to see if Moynat should also expect the bags to be as sought after as the original plush pendant key chains.
According to Pop Mart CEO Wang Ning, Labubu sales surpass 10 million units a day currently, beginning September this year.
