POP MART is poised to open its first ever store in the Middle East next month at Hamad International Airport, with Qatar Duty Free.
Known around the world for its collectible toys, including the social media sensation Labubu character, POP MART will offer a wide range of figurines in its new travel retail store, including the promise of some limited-edition pieces.
Work for the landmark opening is already underway, with Qatar Duty Free promising the arrival of POP MART will further enhance the lifestyle, discovery and playfulness offering at the hub airport.
Thabet Musleh, Qatar Airways Group Chief Retail & Hospitality Officer, said: “POP MART has become a cultural phenomenon, and we’re thrilled to bring the first POP MART store in the Middle East.
“At Qatar Duty Free, we are committed to offering travellers something fresh and surprising at every turn, and this store will do exactly that. With POP MART’s mix of creativity, exclusivity, and global appeal, we’re adding a whole new dimension to the retail experience at Hamad International Airport.”
The opening continues Qatar Duty Free’s current legacy of bringing new and exciting concepts to the travel retail sector, especially in the lifestyle and luxury sectors.
“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Qatar Duty Free – a leader in redefining travel retail – to bring POP MART’s one-of-a-kind character-driven products to the Middle East,” added Justin Moon, Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of POP MART International Group.
“We hope this store at Hamad International Airport grows with our local fan community and brings joy to all – be it regional shoppers grabbing a treat or global travellers taking a unique souvenir back home.”
The opening will be the latest in a series of high-profile new arrivals for Qatar Duty Free, including the recent debut of Lancôme Café de la Rose.
