The upcoming episode of South Park season 27 will poke fun at Donald Trump’s tariff policy and the Labubu phenomenon.
The hit series has been making waves since its premiere last July, as it is consistently poking fun at the Trump administration and the recent political events that are happening in the United States. Fans have been wondering which other issues the show might tackle in the rest of the season and whether they will continue to poke fun at Trump.
What Fans Should Expect in South Park Season 27 Episode 4
Comedy Central has released the teaser for the upcoming fourth episode of South Park season 27 titled “Wok is Dead,” which will air this Wednesday, September 3.
They revealed that the episode will satirize Trump’s controversial trade tariff policy and the Labubu craze that has dominated pop culture in the last several months.
As the episode description teased: “Butters experiences the reality of tariffs when he has to buy a Labubu doll for his girlfriend’s birthday.”
The footage also revealed that Jesus has taken the position of the new guidance counselor in South Park Elementary School (replacing Mr. Mackey, who was fired two episodes ago) and Satan and Trump walking down the stairs from Air Force One.
In the previous episode, which aired two weeks ago, the series brought back Towelie to poke fun at the military’s takeover of Washington, D.C., under the order of Trump.
What is the Release Schedule of South Park Season 27?
Recently, Comedy Central confirmed that they have shifted the release of the new episodes of South Park season 27 to a bi-weekly schedule, instead of the usual weekly release that we’ve been accustomed to.
While the plans could still change, the current production plan for South Park season 27 is to release new episodes until December 10, wrapping the ten-episode run of the season.
The show’s parent company, Paramount/Skydance, has also given approval to the show’s new release schedule and did not oppose the plan at all.
According to reports, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone wanted to have more time in producing episodes due to the many Trump headlines that have been discussed recently.
