After much anticipation, downtown San Francisco received its official Pop Mart store location. Just a block from the newly opened Nintendo Store, which still sees lines that go up and around Powell Street on weekends, the viral makers behind Labubus and other blind-boxed goods hosted a “soft launching” of its newest Bay Area store on Monday; Sunday saw increased presence of City workers tidying up the area and promptly creating areas for lines.
The opened store at 200 Powell Street, lucky patrons, some of whom waited hours to secure a spot in line, will be filled with all things plush and things that cater to every Labubu ich; another location at the nearby Stonestown Galleria opened in July and has since helped increase foot traffic in the shopping center; the newly opened downtown location, in tandem with the Ninentend Store, will help make the area a mecca for both plaything nostalgia and novelty.
A grand opening event is planned soon, and the hours for the 200 Powell Street store are 12 to 9 pm, Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
