Created by Hong Kong illustrator Kasing Lung, Labubu is a part of a line of characters inspired by Nordic mythology. According to the creator, even though she’s a monster Labubu is kind hearted and always wants to help others.
Kasing Lung signed an official licensing agreement with Chinese toymaker Pop Mart for production and distribution of the toy in a blind box format. Today, over 300 variations of the doll can be found.
