We – like most fashion girlies – are still not over Labubu dolls. The humble bag charm has become the IT girl accessory of the moment thanks to backing from celebrities including Blackpink’s Lisa, Dua Lipa and Rihanna, plus hundreds of viral videos on TikTok dedicated to the cute, kinda creepy toy.
Just how the craze managed to reach fever pitch is all down to the fact that Labubus are incredibly hard to come across. Sold as ‘blind box’ collectables by Pop Mart, it’s no wonder they fly off the shelves as people try to find a complete set. Despite their £80 price tag.
Whether you’ve missed out on the latest online drop (that surprise, surprise was an almost instant sell-out) or can’t justify the price tag (because let’s face it, it’s not exactly a cheap obsession), there’s now a whole new way to tap into the Labubu trend. Thanks to By Rotation, you can rent Labubu dolls from as little as £4 a day!
There are currently 14 different Labubus available to rent on the app, including the ‘BABA’ doll from the ‘Have A Seat’ set as well as ‘Green Grape’ and ‘Sea Salt Coconut’ from the ‘Exciting Macaron’ collection.
“Fashion is meant to be fun, and right now people are craving those little bursts of joy in their wardrobes. Labubus are the perfect shot of dopamine – quirky, playful and totally of-the-moment. But like all trends, their appeal might be fleeting, which is why renting them makes so much sense,” says founder and CEO of By Rotation, Eshita Kabra-Davies. “It allows you to tap into the excitement without the hours spent queuing or scrolling, and without the guilt of buying something you might only wear once.”
